Vote for Maine Kids is very pleased to announce that the Riverview Foundation AIM program is among the top 5 winners in the Clorox Power a Bright Future Facebook Voting Contest.

After six weeks of steady voting, extensive networking in cyber-space, with partner youth programs and on the streets, voters from Sanford to Presque Isle, across the country and around the world, made it happen on Facebook for Maine kids! Thanks to the Governor’s endorsement and great media coverage in the final few days including a fabulous opportunity to call on Mainers to vote on the Channel 6 Sunday Morning Report, the Riverview Foundation AIM program brought in a total of 14,136 votes as of 11:59 pm January 17th,  and additionally earned the “most votes in a day” record, with 2725 votes on the last day!

Over 5000 supporters in all voted for Riverview Foundation AIM over the entire contest period, with countless additional supporters cheering us on from outside the Facebook community and helping to spread the word.

Collective effort on behalf of kids in the Riverview Foundation AIM program and support for After-school Programs in Maine as a whole was overwhelming and inspirational!   With only 300 votes between Riverview Foundation AIM and the outside edge of the winner’s circle, we are so grateful for all the support and for every single vote cast. THANK YOU!

Please look for Riverview Foundation in the Worlds’ Most Beautiful Edition of People Magazine due on National News Stands April 30 (edition date May 10th, 2010) and know you were a part of putting a Maine success story in the national limelight.
